This amazing sightseeing tour will take you around Chiang Mai for an up-close and personal look at some of its most notable highlights: it will include stops at temples, old city walls, gates and moat, as well as at the local market. This original tour includes a visit at Wat Chiang Man, the city’s oldest temple and famous for a Chedi supported by rows of elephantine buttresses. It also includes a stop at Wat Phrasing, which is home of the beautiful Lai Kham chapel with its exquisite woodcarving and northern style murals. We will then go to Wat Chedi Luang and its enormous Pagoda (which was partially destroyed by an earthquake in 1545) before heading to Wat Suan Dok, which dates back to the 14th century when the Thai monarchy was taking leisure walks in its gardens. Nowadays it houses several white Chedis, all containing the ashes of Chiang Mai’s former Royal family, and features one of the most famous Monk Schools in the whole locality of Chiang Mai. Lunch is at a local restaurant.

After lunch, features a scenic drive through the most historic areas of Chiang Mai, and includes a pass through the old city walls, city gates and moat. We will then drive around Chiang Mai’s popular areas, pass a local market, some foreign consulates and government buildings, drive by ‘Tapae Gate’ before continuing to the acclaimed temple Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep. The temple is home to a holy relic of the Lord Buddha and considered by many to be the most sacred Wat in northern Thailand. Built by the King Gue-Na in 1383 and situated 3,500 feet above the sea level, it also offers a stunning panoramic view of the city for those brave ones who will climb the 300 steps to the top of its summit.
